Not normal: Based on your description, it sounds as if your wisdom tooth is partially impacted, or buried partially under the bone and gums. This is not normal and will usually lead to problems eventually. You're young and just haven't had a problem yet. This could lead to damage to or bone loss around the adjacent molar tooth, or decay in the wisdom tooth due to difficulty cleaning. See an oral surgeon.

Probably: Wisdom teeth come in all shapes and sizes. It's probably not a problem unless you can see a hole from decay or have pain. If you are still concerned you should see a dentist to ease your mind.
