Yes: Ideally vitamins would be supplied from your diet. Often this is not the case, so a daily multivitamin can help fill in any deficiencies. Be sure that you get adequate amounts of vit d and calcium given your age and gender. Discuss this further with your doc.

Multivitamin: Multiple studies have found that multivitamin a day doesn't give you any benefit unless you're deficient in one particular vitamin.
