Vision correction: There are some laser refractive options that may help correct your myopia (nearsightedness), but to know if you are a good candidate you will need a refractive eye surgeon to examine you. Keep in mind that laser correction does not actually make your eye "normal", e.g. Myopic eyes are still larger than normal eyes (even after lasik) and inherently have higher risk for retinal tears and detachment.

Several options: If your cornea is thick enough and steep enough, and you don't have dry eye, then lasik may be a good choice. If your cornea is steep enough, but not quite thick enough for lasik, then prk may be a good option. Older patients might choose a removal of the natural lens and replacement with a lens implant. Treatments not recommended include rk and ortho-k.Please see an experienced refractive surgeon.
