Exercise: Yes, absolutely walking can help lose weight. You may need to increase intensity of exercise as tolerated/allowed, however, to achieve weight gain. But proper eating and walking are a great start to your goal of losing weight.

Yes : This is an excellent way to lose weight. Talk to your neurologist regarding any precautions or limitations he may recommend on your activity given his or her assessment of your abilities with your parkinson's disease. Best wishes to you . Yes!: Especially if you have not been walking previously, adding this physical activity will help you lose weight. Being active can help you feel better emotionally too! doing some form of "burst" exercise training may help also, if your parkinson's symptoms allow this. http://tinyurl.com/mm6otje enjoy and be well!

No: Not necessarily. It is important to discuss these developmental milestones with your pediatrician. Many children reach their developmental stages at different paces than the "average" baby and are perfectly normal. Also, some children have delayed motor skills due to other conditions (such as slightly weak muscles) that may get better with either time or special exercises (physical therapy).

Does light bleeding in early pregnancy mean I am having a miscarriage?

Dr. David Fein

No: There are many benign causes for spotting or bleeding early in pregnancy, and 30% of all women with normal pregnancy outcomes will actually have bleeding in the first trimester. Of course it is important to contact your physician if you are having bleeding with your pregnancy, but it does not mean the pregnancy will end in miscarriage.

If I took indoethacin in my last weeks of pregnancy, should the fetal heart rate be monitored on a daily basis?

Dr. Nicholas Fogelson
Specializes in Gynecology
Depends: Indomethacin taken frequently over a long period of time can cause a transient change in the fetal heart circulation (in doctor speak it closes the ductus arteriosus). Small doses for only a few days, which is usually the only thing we would do, is not particularly dangerous. Check with your doctor on why you are taking it and whether monitoring is needed.

Can walking everyday help me lose weight? I have early stages of Parkinson's and need to lose weight. I eat healthy but it's not enough.

Walking: Walking is an excellent exercise. Weight lose is a benefit of walking regularly. Be careful if you have parkinson's, walk in a familiar, secure environment with few stairs depending on the severity of your symptoms. Safely first, weight loss second.
