Walking: Walking is an excellent exercise. Weight lose is a benefit of walking regularly. Be careful if you have parkinson's, walk in a familiar, secure environment with few stairs depending on the severity of your symptoms. Safely first, weight loss second.

Losing weight: Regrets to hear of your parkinsons diagnosis. There are new treatments, including possibly transcranial magnetic stimulation. For losing weight, follow this guidance: your metabolism is like a fire and need consistant fueling to burn. Every 2-3 hours, eat a small, palm sized portion of low fat protein + small portion of complex carb (brown rice/bread). Sprinkle 4 fruits and 5 veggie portions.

Yes: The best exercise to lose weight is the type of exercise you'll be able to do and do consistently. So walking is an excellent option. As you are already correctly doing, eating healthy is intimately connected to exercise as two key ingredients in any successful weight loss program. Wishing you good health and happiness!
