A member asked:

Is the final word on hrt out yet? who is considered safe to get hrt nowadays?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Almost: The "final word" seems to change, but for now, the best advice is 2 recommendations: 1) transdermal therapy (patch, cream, or gel) is safest; and 2) "lowest dose, shortest time" is the catchphrase from every women's health expert. Natural, plant-derived, trans-dermal estrogens, for most women (with a normal breast-cancer risk), appear to not increase breast cancer risk in the first 4 years of use.
