Why?: The indications for hormone replacement therapy are quite limitted in the oldest old. In fact, i can not think of one approved recomendation for estrogen replacement in a 90yo woman. Newer studies show there is some room for use of hrt early in post menopausal women. Old studies were disproven for use of ert in the elderly with dementia as being helpful for management of agitation.
