What should i do about an exposed nerve on my teeth?

See you dentists: You may have simple gum recession around the tooth area, which can be alleviated with special materials or bonding, or the tooth may need a cap. If the tooth is fine, often simply using sensodyne toothpaste over a period of time may help a great deal. If the problem is more severe than this, a nerve treatment may be needed to remove the discomfort. Keep smiling !

Options: If you have an exposed nerve due to decay or trauma, you have two options. To save the tooth if enough sound tooth structure is present some form of root canal therapy would be the first option. If there is not enough tooth structure remaining, or you do not want to undergo root canal therapy, the other option is to have the tooth removed.

Exposed nerves?: To dentists, 'exposed nerves' mean exactly that (nerve of tooth exposed by cavity or trauma). Many patients use that term to relate tooth sensitivity and not true nerve exposure. Both dr.Quon and dr.Owoc gave you excellent answers on several possible causes and appropriate treatment. See your own dentist to resolve your particular issues.
