Nothing Dramatic: The patient has received a small dose of x-rays. Hopefully the exam provided the needed clinical information to guide treatment. The lifetime risk from the radiation exposure is very small but not zero. The risk of exploratory surgery which was frequently required before modern imaging was considerably higher.
