Possible nerve: It may be an inflamed nerve. Have your dentist evaluate the tooth in question.

Pain?: Pain in the same tooth as the new crown? Or pain in the opposing tooth? Pain in the tooth or more like pain on the gum, or deeper within the bone? How recently is new? Days? Weeks? Spontaneous pain or pain to cold\hot\pressure? It could be lots of things and would need to be evaluated by your dentist. We can only guess. Your dentist can tell you why.
