A member asked:

Is a uti only when you have symptoms? could there be a uti off and on, but only sometimes causing symptoms?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Complicated: Generally UTI is broken down into upper vs. Lower tract infection. Chronic pyelonephritis can be asymptomatic. Cystitis, or lower tract infection, is seldom without symptoms. You should consult with a urologist.
