A member asked:

Can contact lenses scratch the surface of the eye? also are there any do & don'ts when wearing them?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Contacts can scratch: Contact lenses can scratch your cornea. Be careful not to rub your eyes when you are wearing contacts. Make sure to take them out at night unless they are made to wear 24 hour a day. Make sure to sterilize them and clean them thoroughly. Protect your eyes during sports activities. Make sure your eyes are lubricated.
