A member asked:

What to do if i have high blood pressure. can i take alza 36 (concerta)?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possibly: Concerta, like other forms of methylphenidate and amphetamines can cause elevation of blood pressure. If yoiur blood pressure is already elevated youir doctor should carefully monitor your blood pressure while taking concerta. Speak with your doctor about this and alternative medications that do not effect blood pressure.
