Concerta side effect: If you have been prescribed 54 mg of concerta, i assume you have tolerated lower doses without side effects. The side effects of Concerta are headache, stomach ache, depressed appetite, insomnia, tics, high blood pressure, rapid heart rate, irritability, sedation and depressed mood. These can occur at any dose.

Major side effects: As with all stimulant medications, there are three major side effects: decreased appetite, potential interference with sleep and increased irritability. The Concerta can also increase heart rate and blood pressure. So if that is an issue for you, they should be monitored.
