Sleep paralysis: You likely had an isolated episode of sleep paralysis which occurs when you awaken in the middle of rem sleep. It is often an isolated event which requires no intervention. If it recurs or you develop other symptoms, then see a sleep disorders specialist. Best wishes to you.
