ESR: I see she had a temporal artery biopsy, she is on the right track. An inflammation of the temporal artery can cause headaches and a high ESR and is usually treated with prednisone. It is a vasculitis. Follow what the doctor is doing.

MANY THINGS: The first thing to ask is why she was taking porednisone in the first place. Elevated ESR indicates inflammation, infection or other diseases. There are many possible reasons for an elevated ESR but it is important to know why she had Prednisone to start. It may be the same disease process coming back or not fully treated.
