The decision needs: To be made in conjunction with your psychiatrist and psychotherapist. If your condition is stable, stay on your meds at college, and have a therapist at college who you can speak with if things get rough, you should do fine, but all those working with you should be in communication and agree that you are ready for the pressures of college life. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Depression: Bipolar can usually be successfully treated with both medication and psychotherapy. Make sure you arrange for both to be in place at your university so you will have ongoing support while you pursue your studies. My best.

Clozapine: I agree with Dr. Lavi. I would make sure that you, your psychiatrist and your therapist all agree and that you are psychologically stable enough for this transition. In addition, make sure you aren't havin intolerable side effects right now. I would let the University know and make sure that there is a facility where your blood work can be drawn and monitored. Remain under psychiatric care.
