Why does lyrica (pregabalin) sometimes give depression as side-effect. and for instance ghb is sometimes used as an anti-deppresant? is it that big of a diffrence?

Lyrica (pregabalin): Lyrica (pregabalin) enhances GABA in the brain which is supposed to calm the brain and may cause tiredness and depressive like symptoms as side effects ghb is used to treat insomnia i believe and not commonly prescribed.

Most anticonvulsants: Cause depression in at least a small number of people. Ghb is a totally different medication and I have never heard of it being used as an antidepressant, at least in the us.
