Depends: Prognosis for brain tumors depends on several factors. The most important is the type of tumor. Some benign tumors have an excellent prognosis even without treatment. On the other hand , malignant tumors may have a poor prognosis . Other factors may include age, health condition, tumor location and size.

Type and location: There are many kinds of brain tumors, depends on what type you refer to (histological diagnosis determines what to expect). Location is crucial also, some locations in the brain are unforgiving and people may not live long if tumor is pushing on the brain stem for example. Age and social support networks plays a role too.
