Vaginal deliveries.: A history of one or more vaginal deliveries is the best predictor of vaginal prolapse. More strenuous activities (heavy lifting and straining) increase the likelihood and severity of the prolapse. The decrease in vaginal collagen production that occurs when the vaginal tissue estrogen levels decrease after menopause accelerates the prolapse.

Straining: Anything that increases your intraabdominal pressure such as heavy lifting, chronic constipation, chronic cough. Obesity can definitely worsen your symptoms.

Straining: Chronic straining from constipation, chronic coughing, a job with heavy lifting, etc. Puts pressure on the bladder and may increase your risk for prolapse or dropped bladder.
