A member asked:

Are you supposed to still have pain after a kidney stone drops into your bladder?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pain should resolve: You may have pain when the stone leaves the bladder (in the urethra). If the stone is in the bladder but still blocking the ureteral orifice, you will continue to have pain. Finally, the pain from passing a stone can sometimes take a while to resolve after the stone has passed due to inflammation of the ureter. If the pain does not resolve, follow up with your doctor.
