Kelp can worsen sxs: Kelp is not generally recommended to treat overactive thyroid gland.Taking kelp supplements affects the iodine levels in body and can cause a normal thyroid gland to become over- or underactive.Taking kelp supplements can cause a serious health condition called thyrotoxicosis.Thyrotoxicosis requires immediate hospitalization with increase in severity of hyperthyroidism symptoms.
