A member asked:

41 yr man with bp standing 157/95, sitting 135/85. i run all the time, work out. doc said less salt and lose wt. what's the cause, what else to do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

BP ok: Your resting BP is normal - if that number is reflective of your average, no problem! it is normal for BP to rise when standing and if it dropped, it would be abnormal. If your bmi is >25, you would be well advised to lose weight. Avoiding xs salt is good for everyone. It sounds like you get an "a" in the exercise dept - outstanding! stay the course.
