Depends: If the process is bacterialand if the germ is killed by that antibiotic, the fever should respond within 48hrs.Congestion and cough may remain for 2 weeks or more.If the process is viral and or bacterial and unresponsive to the antibiotic, fever may persist and slow or no improvement may be noted.
