Sinus infection: The choice of antibiotics to treat sinus infections is a complex one. If a patient has never had an antibiotic one would choose an antibiotic based on the likely bacteria to be found in the sinus. First choice antibiotics are amoxicillin, erythromycin, and a first generation. Cephalosporin, like keflex. If you have seen an antibiotic before:augmentin, biaxin, (clarithromycin) clidamycin, and Levaquin are good.
