You're a man: Acne is a chronic disease that eventually remits, but the time it vanishes is unpredictable. A great many men have it into their 20's and beyond. I was able to stop taking medication when i was 50. Regardless of your age, it's manageable. If topical benzoyl peroxide hasn't cleared you, get with your physician.

Genetics: The majority have it in their teens with resolution by their early 20's.However, a subset can have it off and on well into their 30's and beyond.Eventually it will disappear, but is one of the hardest skin problems to predict. My sis finished her 3rd round of serious acne meds in her 40's before it faded.Best to find a dermatologist you can work with and keep up your skin care plan until it stops
