Red pimples: This problem is in need of a visual inspection. It could be a virus, like Molluscum, or from a bacterial folliculitis or just a contact rash, and not an infection. Rashes of any kind need to be seen to be diagnosed correctly. If it is bothering him, scratching it, or getting worse rather than better, take him to be seen by his/her doctor.
