Examination: It's difficult to say without an examination. You are describing a rather large bump without any comment of pain, redness, drainage or eyelid swelling. If its dark yellow, it could be xanthalasma. It may also be a fatty protrusion, epidermal inclusion cyst, or other dermatological growth or lesion. Tear gland: It is most likely your tear gland, which can become swollen or inflamed. If so, that usually recovers although you might need medicine. The next most common cause is protrusion of orbital fat. If so, that might require surgical correction. You need to see a specialist eye md (ophthalmologist) for special examination.
