A member asked:

Can long periods of prolonged stress make your immune system weak or go into chronic stress mode? if so, how do you recover?

Stress: Prolonged mental stress can cause a number of psychological and physical symptoms that make you run down. The function of the immune system should be intact unless physical stress is inflicted on the body. If you have a therapist around you, seek their advice, they can help you manage your stress.

Stress not good: Chronic stress is not good for anyone and potentially can affect your immune system although it is difficult to prove with double-blind studies. The logical way is to remove the cause of the stress which is not always possible. Other than that, a regular exercise program, yoga, or meditation may help reduce stress.
