what should i do if clearasil (benzoyl peroxide) overnight wash irritates my skin?

Switch: The active ingredient is 2% salicylic acid so you could try another otc product with a different active ingredient such as benzoyl peroxide. Be careful because it can bleach towels etc. Also with any products it is important to moisturize because while they are drying out your acne they can be drying to the rest of your face.

Clearasil (benzoyl peroxide): Check with your doctor as soon as possible if any of the following side effects occur while taking salicylic acid topical: skin irritation not present before use of this medicine (moderate or severe), dryness and peeling of skin, flushing, redness of skin, unusually warm skin. You may be having an adverse reaction to the clearasil (benzoyl peroxide).
