Depends: Upon surgical technique & whether circumferential dressing, e.g. Coban bandage, was used, & if u as 43-y-o had circumcision, or if a baby or prepubertal child had it. Usually settles down in couple of weeks for adult, certainly should be free of swelling within 6 weeks. Advise to avoid sex until pain & swelling have gone. All swelling should have gone in < 2 weeks in prepubertal child.
