You need to see MD: You have been takin Cipro (ciprofloxacin) at dose of 500mgm daily for 30 days, and apparently it is not being effective. That will suggest that the bacteria causing the infection are resistant to Cipro (ciprofloxacin) and you need to repeat a urine culture to find the appropriate antibiotic to treat your infection. So see your doctor or a urologist.

Here are some...: How were you diagnosed to have UTI by symptoms alone or symptoms + urine culture from properly collected fresh urine? Generally speaking, it is unnecessary to use antibiotics more than 3-5 days for common uncomplicated UTI; if effective, you should see symptomatic improvement in 2-5 days. If not, re-evaluate for right diagnosis and adjust treatment accordingly.
