A member asked:

Why is there a blue ring around my iris? should i be worried about this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It's likely normal: A grayish blue ring covering the outer iris is most commonly caused by cholesterol which actually becomes deposited in the peripheral cornea, which is in front of the iris. It's called 'arcus senilis' and is usually normal. Because you are only 41, you should make sure your blood cholesterol levels are ok.
