Post trauma pain: You did not describe the headache, but since it continues after so many years, i would expect the headaches represent trauma triggered migraine. Treat the acute headaches with over the counter meds like excedrine migrain. You need to consult a neurologist for treatment with a preventative medication which hopefully would free you from more headaches in the future.
