need expert advice on any suggestions for handling back pain/muscle tightness?

Physical therapy: Topical creams can soothe the pain, ie aspercream or tiger balm. Warm soaking baths or showers to help relax the muscles. If you access to a pool, being weightless for a sustained period of time will also help.
