One way: Hyperactive children are often sleep deprived. One cause is sleep apnea. The exercise can tire them out so they sleep better. When they sleep better, they do much better in school both behavior wise and grade wise.

Hyperactivity : Hyperactive children have a difficult time focusing in the classroom and they benefit from movement and breaks. Exercise could help hyperactive children release energy and regain some focus for a while. All children benefit from exercise in school !
