Abnormal : In general, the x-ray itself doesn't cause bone pain. However, an x-ray is typically obtained in a setting where there are multiple possibilities for causes of bone pain. I would consider these other causes first...Such as any underlying conditions that might be aggravated by positioning for the x-ray or other tests and medications that might be given/performed at the same time.
