Guaifenesin: Guaifenesin is the generic for mucinex (guaifenesin). It can also be found in Robitussin and other medicines with multipurpose uses. It is an expectorant that thins secretions. Proper hydration helps a lot too. If symptoms persist then maybe a visit to a doctor can help determine if the problem is from allergies or reflux.
