Adaptation: It will take time to adjust to having the denture in your mouth. It will take approximately 2 weeks to readapt your tongue to the denture. Adjustment period: Getting dentures is never a particularly easy thing to adjust to. You will have some sore spots which will need adjusted, you will have difficultly eating at first, and your speech may take some getting used to. Talk to your doctor about your concerns and in what ways he can help you manage through the initial period. Keep smiling!
