Head injury?: Have you had a head injury? Fallen and hit your head? Been in a car wreck, etc? It's possible for such injuries to disrupt or completely shear off the tiny nerve fibers that run from the inside of your nose up to the olfactory nerves in your brain. This interrupts sense of smell, which in some cases may return. Loss of smell can signify other things too -- please see a neurologist or ENT doc.
