Sometimes....: If you can see part of the tooth and the gums are swollen around that tooth, then you probably should get them removed or at least have the gum tissue removed so that you can clean the tooth at home. If the wisdom tooth is coming in straight, then it may be related to the teething process. An x-ray would be helpful to determine if the tooth is coming in straight.

Probably: It's usually necessary to remove wisdom teeth even when they are asymptomatic. So if you are bothered by yours, you better see the dentisl.
