Can putting asprin directly on a cavity help the pain?

No: Aspirin is acidic and my irritate the tooth and gum tissue even further. Take otc pain meds and call a local dentist for an appointment. Your pharmacy may have a temporary dental paste which can be put into the cavity to temporarily ease the pain.
