A member asked:

Can constantly being a care-giver make you end up depressed?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Absolutely: Being a care giver is extremely demanding, and often leads to depression or "compassion fatigue." more people now find themselves in care giving roles, and are surprised to find themselves emotionally and physically drained by a commitment that often starts out of love for someone close to us. If you're already depressed, get help. Your doctor will understand, and can help you learn your limits.
