Yes: All dental whitening chemical procedures use hydrogen peroxide (carbamide peroxide breaks down into hydrogen peroxide and urea) gel, not liquid you get over the counter. Hydrogen peroxide can burn your gums. Professional whitening trays made by a dentist is the best way to whiten teeth since you have more control with them and can do touch-ups months and years down the road.
