Probably: Surgery is the mainstay of cancer therapy if the tumor can be removed with a margin of normal surrounding tissue. Depending on the location of the cancer and the risks associated with taking it out, we will sometimes use other treatment modalities like chemotheray or radiation. The commision on cancer does have guidelines to the timeframe for cancer treatment that ranges from 7-21 days.
