Arthritis v exercise: Osteoarthritis aka arthritis is common degenerative arthritis caused from damage over long period of time. This is different from rheumatoid arthritis in which body attacks own joints. Regardless, exercise is key to managing arthritis. Weight loss, too, if overweight or obese. Check out http://goo.Gl/s5knr, http://goo.Gl/ygvgie & http://goo.Gl/vfulon re exercise & arthritis. Ask doc for pain relie.

See below: This is the wear and tear arthritis ---often osteoarthritis. Once it starts it progresses. Since it is involving your knees, weight loss can slow progression as well as quadriceps physical therapy exercises, but ultimately you will eventually need surgery.

Everyone Gets It: Just takes time. Usually the normal version of arthritis happens usually in people in their 40s or older. Degenerative means wear and tear over time, usually in one joint or multiple joints of the body. You can't stop it however you can slow it down or control it better with medications, injections, physical therapy to strengthen joints and even stem cell therapies to slow it down.
