Safe: 225 mg of Effexor (venlafaxine) is safe. The only thing to watch out for is to make sure that your blood pressure does not go up. To that end you may also want to curtail curtail some of your caffeine consumption.

375 mg: The maximum daily dose is 375 mg. It can cause high blood pressure and rapid heart rate in susceptible people so should be given under the supervision of a physician.
