Reduce weight: Don't get discouraged. The best way to lose weight is not by dieting, but by changing your lifestyle to a healthier one. You don't need a drastic diet. Make small changes. Eat the right portions, eat 3-5 small meals a day, cut back on carbs/sugars/junk food/soda, increase lean protein/veggie/fruit/water intake, and start doing some cardiovascular exercise (elliptical, bike, treadmill).

Ask to speak with: A therapist or talk to your counselor at school. It sounds like you are depressed and the weight issue is only part of the problem. Focussing on the weight may lead you down the dangerous path of an eating disorder. A therapist can help you with the depression, sleep issues and find healthy life changes (exercise and diet) that can address your weight if needed.
