Maybe: Plavix (clopidogrel) is generally not indicated for life. Depending on his particular risks, it may be a candidate for being discontinued. CABG patients must pay very close attention to their risk factors since they have the disease of atherosclerosis and are at risk for further complications. Thus, all meds for HTN and high cholesterol are likely lifetime meds as is aspirin.

Yes: People who require cabg, have coronary artery disease ( blockages in the heart's blood vessels). Medications known to prolong your life/prevent future cardiac events are anti platelet meds (aspirin/plavix), betablocker ( such as concor), statin (such as atorvastatin, a constituent of caduet), ace inhibitor (such as perindopril, a constituent of preterax). These are "lifelong meds".
