A member asked:

A person is 5'7 and weighed at 185 at their heaviest, do they need to lose weight even if the doctor tells them they are healthy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: Is this a man or a woman? Are they muscular or are they fat? A body composition analysis might help more than just height and weight. Body composition can be done with calipers to measure skin/subcutaneous tissue thickness, with a special machine called a bioimpedance analyzer, or by dunking in water.
